A muddy marriage proposal that really is top dog!

As the UK’s original home of rural dating for well over 15 years, we are fortunate to have enjoyed than our fair share of excitement when it comes to farm weddings, farmer love stories and countryside engagements.

But as rural wedding proposals go, this one is pretty special. It is certainly something that sets the standard for all rural singles online dating with Muddy Matches to aspire too, not least because it heavily features a working dog.

This week, thanks to the power of the agricultural community on Twitter, we got wind of a muddy couple in Cheshire, who got engaged at the start of the New Year.  Intrigued, we had to know more, especially when we saw the photo of the proposal, and the four legged friend who popped the all important question.

“I’m not often lost for words,” said bride-to-be, and field sports queen, Victoria. “But ‘the man’ has managed it today with a little help from Walter. We’re getting married! #Engaged”.

In her green corner of the North West, Victoria lives her very best life in mud; ‘a life of shooting, dogs and wellies’ and with no time for drama – as she puts it – with dog obedience whistle in hand, out in the Cheshire fresh air.

She’s knee deep in field sports, with her ‘gang’ of dogs including Maggie, Walter, Agnes, Stan and more, alongside her now new fiancé, for company. She also talks of a ‘gin and champagne’ fondness too on her twitter profile as she daily discusses her love of the rural lifestyle.

Well, she certainly has reason for champagne now, having had Walter bound up to her with the question that will change her life.

“When the shock and adrenaline of the last 24-48 hours wears off… I slept for a solid 10 hours and needed every minute of it!!!”
