Sarah unearths her match in petrolhead Pete.

Sometimes, when you connect with someone who ticks your boxes whilst online dating, you just know it has legs, right?

There’s lots of noise out there suggesting online dating success is a long drawn out process; with endless searching and daily browsing. Even then, getting a match to commit to a date can take plenty of patience and biding time.

Not so on when rural dating with Muddy Matches. Today, we were lucky enough to hear from Hertfordshire based singleton Sarah, who joined Muddy Matches in November 2022, and just 3 weeks after joining, had flown the nest with a new man in tow.

Sarah, who admits to wearing her heart on her sleeve in her online dating profile with us, joined Muddy Matches looking to unearth a gent who could ‘make her giggle’ and ‘wanted to hold her hand’.

Now 66, and widowed after marrying at just 20, Sarah indicated a passion for ‘competitive croquet, car racing, cooking, snorkelling and pink champagne’. She said she revelled in the high life of 5 star luxury but was just as happy with basic camping.

But it was her love of car racing, and enthusiasm for car rallies that prompted a quick, strong bond with 80% muddy, clay pigeon shooter Peter.

Peter, slightly younger than his match, was also a petrolhead, working in the industry but also as a hobby. He had been a rural single dating with us since February with a hope of landing another shot of love and romance.

Exchanging messages, they talked car rallies, the pulling power of their own four wheels and a love of books, including, dare we say it ‘well written love stories’.

They have since left Muddy Matches as a country couple to pursue things offline – and we couldn’t be happier for them.

At Muddy Matches, we have been inspiring countryside connections between rural singles for well over 15 years now. That’s why we are trusted as the original, awarding home of farmer dating and country life love in the UK.

Who will you unearth?
