Did you know that almost 40% of all new relationships across the UK in the past 12 months started out online, somewhere?

What’s more, it is well believed that by 2037 more babies will be born to couples finding their soulmates on dating apps and websites than through other traditional offline forms of dating.

These stats prove one thing: online dating websites works and it is now part and parcel of every day life. Yet, despite being woven into the fabric of society, there still remains some eyebrow raising attached to the realities of meeting online.
The umm’ing and erring that often follows the question, ‘Where did you two meet?’ remains something we see regularly in person, in forums and, most surprisingly, on social media.

Thankfully, one Muddy – matched couple who, when responding to an online thread in a mums group on a social network, were more than happy to spill the beans that Muddy Matches played countryside cupid.

“I saw a Facebook post in a mums group this morning about how you met your partner and did you lie about meeting online?’ Anne tells us. “I met my husband on Muddy Matches. We’ve been together over 5 years, married for 2 and have an 11 month old.

“It’s been a rollercoaster. We are moving to our new (hopefully forever) home today; a small holding in Northumberland. We are both farmers’ children but neither have taken on the farm. I’m a land agent so still work in the industry.”

We are pleased to hear you are proud of your roots in meeting on Muddy Matches Anne – and good luck with the house move.
