Another month, another Muddy wedding!

People often ask us whether online dating really works. Well, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, allow us to present to you Exhibit A: a fabulous success story of two Muddy Matches members who met on our site, overcame the distance between them and recently got hitched. We rest our case.

The perfect wedding day

“We both felt it was hard to meet people these days so we thought we would give online dating sites a try. My friend had told me about Muddy Matches so I thought I would give it a go. Nick had a friend create his profile as he didn’t know what to put on there. We started messaging and after a few days Nick went away lambing to Rutland. We continued to message everyday and after a week Nick asked if he could call me. It was the strangest phone call ever, because at the time of me answering he was telling a sheep to stay between his legs! I wondered who on earth am I talking to. We laughed it off and spent hours most nights chatting away on the phone whilst Nick was working.

After a month Nick finally went home and we arranged to meet for the first time. We decided to choose a location half way and we went for a walk around Queen Elizabeth country park. We both had turned up early to meet each other. Even when we met we instantly clicked and then the following month (March) we decided we wanted to be together. Nick runs his own contracting company so I moved from Surrey to be with him in Hampshire.

Three years later while away for our anniversary in April 2018 (the best three days of the weather with his phone non stop with people wanting fields harrowed and rolled) he asked to to marry him. I’ve spent the last year planning the wedding while Nick has been hard at work. The vicar began to think he was in my imagination as she hadn’t been able to meet him until the rehearsal two days before the wedding!

The wedding day was absolutely perfect and of course we had to have a tractor theme. Throughout each table was a different tractor name and the place cards were tractor cut outs. Nick drove his new Holland to the church and I drove us to the reception afterwards much to the surprise of our guests. Although a very windy day the sun was shining and everyone was there to help us celebrate become Mr and Mrs Menjou.” – Sophie and Nick
