First Date Outfit

Going on a first date means that your dating profile text and photographs has been effective, so well done to you! Now you just need to think about planning your date, keeping safe, first date conversation and deciding what to wear.

Keep warm

Outdoorsy people are much more likely to be able to cope with cold weather than indoorsy people, but it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t think about keeping out the chill. A skimpy dress, or a slim-fitting shirt may be a flattering look, but shivering is not so attractive.

A soft jumper will make you look strokable, which can only be a good thing if you are looking to get close to your date.

Check the fit

If you haven’t been on a first date in a while, then your lucky first date outfit might have languished at the back of your wardrobe for some time. Make sure to get it out and check the fit as it’s all too easy to put on, or lose a few pounds that will mean that it won’t fit in the same way as it used to.

Be the best version of you

Your first date outfit, like your dating profile, should represent the best version of you. Try to choose an outfit that fits in with your personal style rather than thinking about what is fashionable, or trying to second-guess what your date would like to see you wearing.

Finishing touches

Once you have chosen what to wear, make sure that it is in a good condition. Your outfit should be clean and fresh smelling and as free from hair as possible (we all know that pet hair gets everywhere).

Ironing your clothing can also make all the difference to how your outfit looks.

Wear a smile

It’s a bit cheesy, but the best thing that you can wear on a first date is a big smile. So relax and enjoy yourself!
