Winter Olympics Themed Date Ideas

Sunday, February 11th, 2018

The Pyeongchang Winter Olympics are well underway, with a range of sports that will get your heart racing just by watch them. Most of the sports wouldn’t make practical first date ideas, so we’ve come up with some suggestions that are more suited to the British and Irish landscapes than others.

Tobogganing

The luge is a terrifying event where competitors race along at speeds of over 80mph. There is one luge run in the UK, at The Chill Factor-e in Manchester where you can give it a go if you are both adrenaline junkies.

For those who don’t fancy the luge, there are indoor and outdoor tobogganing centres that allow you to racdown purpose built slopes with the help of a brake to slow you down.

Rifle shooting

Biathlon is another sport that hasn’t really taken off in the UK, or Ireland, but if you would like a taste of the action you can book a riffle shooting date.

Curling

Curling has gained a large following and even Mr T has expressed an interest in the sport.

If you want to plan a curling date, head to http://www.trycurling.com to find a location near to you.

Figure skating

Head to your nearest ice-skating rink and sign up for a figure skating course together. You could even go on to be the next Torvill and Dean, but hopefully with the romantic connection that many people mistakenly thought that the Olympic medalists had.

If Strictly Come Dancing is anything to go by, then dancing closely with one another is a great way to build sexual tension.

Sit back and watch the coverage

If you love watching the sports, you can still get a rush of energy from just watching the coverage.

Just make sure that you know each other well enough before offering to watch it in each other’s homes.
