What do You Want?

Sunday, October 22nd, 2017

When it comes to love, we all have an idea about what our ideal partner would be like, but for most people these expectations differ from reality.

One man, called Alan, has set up his own website that lists the criteria for his ideal woman. The description outlines everything from how she must look, to the way she must dress and the need to speak a second language.

So.. inspired by Alan, what should you write in your profile your own desires?

Shared interests

Niche websites like Muddy Matches allow you to connect with people who share your interests and it is important to know that you enjoy similar activities as well as having your own interests. For this reason, it makes sense to tell people about the hobbies and interests that you are looking for your partner to enjoy with you. For example, if you are a keen walker, it would make sense to find someone who enjoys donning their boots and joining you for a long walk in the countryside.

If you are an adrenaline junkie, you might wish to find someone who will accompany you, rather than being scared of heights, or water, or simply getting hurt.

Although we are not fans of people who set a maximum clothing size, it is more understandable to ask for someone who is into sport, or fitness if you are a fitness fanatic yourself.

If you have a strong faith, you might wish to find someone who is also religious. Let people about what region you follow and any aspects that are particularly important to you. For example, if you attend church every week, you might wish to meet someone who will attend church with you.

Too specific

One thing that will stop you from meeting someone special, is being too specific about what your date must look like. You might wish to meet someone who is taller, or shorter than you are, but saying that you want to meet someone between 5’11” and 6’2″ will rule out a lot of suitable people.
