10 Minute Profile Updates

In an ideal world, you’d write a dating profile, make it live and go on to receive a message from the man or woman of your dream within a few hours. In the real world, it can take time to find your perfect match online, so it’s important to make sure that your profile is up-to-date and that it represents you in the best light.

Here are a few quick ways to make sure that your profile is the best that it can be.

Check the date

If your profile says ‘Merry Christmas’, ‘Have a happy New Year’ or any other time sensitive information, it’s a good idea to take it out. Also, check that you haven’t written your age in your profile text, unless you plan to update it when it’s your birthday. By entering your date of birth when you join a dating website, it will update for you, so there’s no need to add it yourself.

Add a line or two

If you’re profile just meets our 200 character limit, take 10 minutes to add another line or two that says a little more about you. For example, you may wish to let people know what your hobbies are, where your favourite holiday has been or what your ideal date would be.

Add a photo

If you haven’t got a photo on your profile already, now is the time to add one. If you have only one photo, add more. On Muddy Matches, you can add eight additional photos and one Main Photo, which will allow people to see what you’re like.

Tick the boxes

If you love outdoor sports like shooting, fishing, or horse riding, make sure to tick the box that says so. This will allow people with similar hobbies to be able to find you easily when they are doing a search.

We’re not expecting you to be able to do everything in 10 minutes, but one of these changes will make a difference to your profile.
