John gets the creme in matching milkmaid Emmie

Heard the one about the female milk tanker driver and sheep farmer who met whilst country-life dating at Muddy Matches?

Well, Lancastrian John certainly got the creme when be connected with 90% muddy Emmie in May 2019.

The pair mutually matched just two weeks after 80% muddy John had signed up to online dating, looking for a country single soulmate who shared his love of the great outdoors.

Emmie, who had first given country life dating a whirl in her mid 20s, had herself decided it was ‘time to get back on the horse’ – and she too had newly joined when the pair mutually matched.

She’d also recently changed location for a change in scenary; moving from Surrey to Lancashire around a year ago.

He praised the ‘banter and sarcasm’ in Emmie’s profile, in which she proudly included a photo of her showing off her massive milk tanker.

She insisted she ‘wasn’t down with the kids enough to chat on Snapchat’. But the pair quickly bonded and agreed to go on a date after a brief message exchange.

“John’s definitely my very muddy other half” Emmie, a big equestrian fan, tells us of her other half who is now working for a timber merchants as he pursues his passion for carpentry.

Her own country credentials are deep rooted though. She spent a youth ‘getting filthy every weekend and working on a friends yard’ whilst aspiring to be a jockey.

She’s since changed tact but remains knee deep in muddy life.

“I’ve been a milk tanker driver for about 4 years and it’s a brilliant job. I keeps me out in the countryside, but I don’t lay awake thinking about the price of milk or anything like that.”

The pair have been in a rural relationship now for over 2 and a half years with plans afoot to make life even muddier.

“We’re hoping to buy a croft or smallholding up in Scotland, so we can have a few animals and a good size workshop for John” Emmie tells us.
