Muddy Matches puts its support behind popular rural podcast

Monday, May 22nd, 2023

As the original home of countryside dating, Muddy Matches always champion the rural way of life, that both our team, and the hoards of singles who choose to date with us, live and breathe.

We celebrate our roots, and after more than 16 years of inspiring rural romance, we are always exploring new ways to help inspire other rural enterprises to flourish.

That’s why, for the past 2 series, we have been delighted to sponsor the brilliant It’s in Our Roots podcast, which tells the inspiring stories of folk that have grown up in the countryside.

It’s in Our Roots is the rather muddy baby of Devon-born friends Dan Grist and Holly Gilbert, both of whom know all to tell well about an upbringing in muddy wellies.

Over 57 laid back episodes, the agri- podcast welcomes a special guest whose connection to the countryside is deep rooted to their success. They have featured farming influencers on social media, medal winning para-athletes from rural backgrounds, TV vets, adventurers, young farmers,, agri-business stars, photographers, wildlife presenters.

And no area of rural life is off topic. They have caught up with a Cornish winner of The Voice UK, a British Sheepdog trialling champion, the captain of the USA’s paralympic volleyball team and a Great British Bake Off contestant with Welsh farming roots.

There’s also a special podcast with Muddy Matches’ founder Lucy Reeves still to come in Season 4, where they talk all things countryside dating, straight from the horses mouth, so to speak.

Each episode is available on Spotify, Apple, BBC Sounds and Google Podcasts.
