As The Cabins returns to ITV2 and ITV Hub we catch up with season 1 singleton Ashleigh, who continued her search for rural romance on Muddy Matches

Popular muddy-minded TV dating show, The Cabins hits television screens on ITV2 and ITV Hub for a second series this January. It gives us ample reason for a cosy catch up with ‘country girl at heart’ Ashleigh, from season 1, who has since joined Muddy Matches looking for love.

The Cabins promotes itself as ‘the ultimate 24-hour date’ off the beaten track, set in the peace and quiet of the mid Wales countryside at the Dwt y Felin lodges – a family run farm diversification project – in Carno, Powys. 16 singles stay in cosy cabins naughtily named Otters Pocket, Stag’s Mount and Beaver’s Burrow where they can see if chemistry blooms in their rural retreat, surrounded by sheep and Welsh cobs.

They have 24 hours to decide whether they would like to spend more time together – or call it a day and walk away.

Muddy Matches caught up with horse lover Ashleigh, from Somerset, who featured on the first series last year, before turning her attentions to Muddy Matches in the quest to land a country loving gent.

“The Cabins experience really showed me what I want” Ashleigh tells us. “I know that I really want a country guy with a similar lifestyle to me. Since appearing on the show, I have been active online at Muddy Matches, I have been dating and trying to meet someone, however I am still single.”

Her passion for a man in wellies remains though. She is ideally looking to connect with ‘a cheeky chap with good banter’ who can make her laugh, preferably under the age of 28, who has farming roots and enjoys life in the country.

Quoting her own love of hiking and horse riding, Ashleigh’s profile has attracted plenty of interest on Muddy Matches and the 24-year-old has exchanged hundreds of messages with potential partners. She remains convinced her muddy Mr Right is out there, and that Muddy Matches is the perfect place to unearth him.

“I live on a smallholding, so they must not be afraid of mud!

“There was a match on Muddy Matches who I dated, and I really liked actually but he just wasn’t ready to commit to a serious relationship.

“I still haven’t found my perfect country guy but I’m hopeful that I will connect with someone great whilst country life dating in the future.”

“I want to find someone to give me that spark for the long term.”

The Cabins became ITV Hub’s most popular entertainment show in 2021 and is broadcast from Monday to Friday at 9pm on ITV2.

Award winning and specialising in rural romance, Muddy Matches is the UK’s original home of farmer love, and is now the nation’s first choice for country-life online dating.

Attracting over 3/4 million singles, mud lovers match based upon a shared love of fresh air, green space, interests and outlook on life.
