‘Muddy intentions were a better fit than those on Tinder’

A farmer’s daughter from Thornbury says the dating intentions of fellow singles on Muddy Matches were much more honourable than those on other dating apps out there – despite the motivation being entirely muddy!

And that made her feel at home whilst online dating!

70% Muddy Milllie, who describes herself as a cake baking sports fan and family beef farmer on her dating profile, said she plucked up the courage to start country life dating on Muddy Matches after returning back to her family farming roots after graduating from university.

At 20 years old, it wasn’t her first venture into online dating but it was to prove the most fruitful in terms of meaningful matches and inspiring genuine chemistry grounded in shared interests.

“When I was at university, I tried apps like Tinder, but a lot of people were on there for the wrong reasons” Millie tells us from the cowshed.

“After university, I moved back home to my parents, and wasn’t going out as much, so thought it was time to sign up to Muddy Matches! This was a different experience as we all had a similar interest of the countryside and that was a huge thing for me.

“I love anything that involves being outdoors, active and adventurous. So I plucked up the courage to join after not much success finding love elsewhere. I thought I had nothing to lose and I’m so glad I did.”

Millie’s profile, with a good selection of natural photos uploaded, and considered bio copy to act as a conversation starter, immediately attracted plenty of potential suiters, from all corners of country life. Her openminded search criteria was set in an age range 18-35 with a full suite of interests and hobbies listed, including point-to-point racing, log fires, country houses dog walking, rugby and hacking.

It was she though that handpicked Steve, from her search listings, to start up the conversation with.

“Within a week of joining, we had met and gone on our first date. We met for a pub meal at the Royal Oak in Tetbury. I was living with my parents at the time and I didnt want them asking lots of questions so said I was going out with friends!”

“We met a couple more times and that’s when I realised he could be the one!! Fast forward to 2018 and we were away in Cornwall when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him… 9 months later we welcomed our first son together and here we are now 5 weeks from getting married!!

“It’s all down to you so thank you very much Muddy Matches!!”
