Pull! Phased reopening of shooting grounds will be welcome news to Muddy Matches members

The CPSA – the National Governing Body of Clay Target Shooting in England – have this week confirmed that many of the 350+ clay shooting grounds and CPSA affiliated clubs can re-open across England following the easing of lockdown restrictions for outdoor activity.

It is the welcome news that clay shooters everywhere have been eagerly awaiting and shooting grounds have been quick to get the message out there their traps will be soon be firing again as they start taking bookings.

It will also delight over 30,000 Muddy Matches members who have made reference to being partial to a spot of clay shooting within their online dating bio with us.

Over 14% of our singletons have shown interest in clay-shooting and it is one of the most popular country pursuits listed for members to select to re-enforce their country credentials on joining up.

Muddy Matches member – and avid clays fan – Laura has already booked her slot at ShootingTargets for tomorrow such is her eagerness to get back into action.

Speaking to Muddy Matches, the 35 year old NHS worker from Northamptonshire said “After a busy week at work; for me, the opening of clay grounds will have such a positive affect.

“It will be good to be back out in the countryside: sunshine, fresh air; smashing those clays & admiring the scenery. You also never know who you may meet (social distancing of course) ;)”

The CPSA are recommending a phased return with recreational pay and play now encouraged. A return of competitive-registered shoots will come in a later phase.

COVID19 guidance and protocols will be in operation at all clay-shooting grounds and should be followed, without exception, whilst enjoying the sport to ensure the safety of all involved.
