Art & Farming in Shropshire

Monday, December 08th, 2008

If you live in or around Shropshire and are free this Wednesday, you might be interested in the following:

‘I FEED THE WORLD’, A Farming & Art Party, Wednesday 10th December 5-7pm, Harper Adams University College, Shropshire

An event held by Harper Adams and artist Georgina Barney, celebrating and reflecting upon connections between Farming and Art, and looking back over Georgina’s time at Harper as Artist in Residence.  Drinks and canapes will be served amongst staff, students, artists and other invited guests.

Georgina Barney is a young contemporary artist with an interest in farming.  She has been funded by the Arts Council England and supported by Farming & Countryside Education.  Harper Adams University College, specialists in farming and agricultural studies, has welcomed Georgina as Artist in Residence this Autumn term 2008 to explore and share ideas with staff and students. “I FEED THE WORLD” is a final reflection.

To attend, or for more information, please email georginabarney@hotmail.com.

We met Georgina on our Muddy Marathon last year to talk to her about her eight-month journey visiting British farms and
land-based projects, trying to draw inspiration from working in
different rural working environments and documenting it all in a blog
on her website, Great British Farming.

Unfortunately,
we can’t make this party (it’s the Muddy Matches office Christmas do on
the same night!) but we think it will be really interesting and
potentially a great way to meet a few new like-minded people so we
wanted to share it with you.  If you would be interested in going, get
in touch with Georgina at the email address given above.
