What shall we do for National Welly Week?

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

We’ve just picked up a leaflet about RABI’s National Welly Week and are asking you, dear members, for a little inspiration and a few suggestions.

Wellyweek_logo_smlRABI (Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution) is a farming charity, which alongside their sister charity RSABI in Scotland, helps those in the UK farming community who are facing need, hardship or distress.  Click on the following links for more information about how they help.

Welly Week is (we think) a truly inspired idea whereby they’re asking all of us to organise an event, or take part in any activity involving wearing wellies, to help raise money for the purchase of special items for those in need, such as stairlifts and electrically-powered vehicles, and to raise the profile of RABI and the work that they do.

It takes place from Saturday 11th – Saturday 18th October 2008 and, not only is it for a great cause, but it also sounds like a lot of fun, so we would really like to get involved and do something ‘muddy’ for them.

Here’s where you come in – do any of you have any cool suggestions and/or fancy getting involved, either by helping us organise something or attending?  It doesn’t have to be a singles event…just something involving wellies and a good excuse for all of us to meet some like-minded muddies.  For more inspiration, click here for a fundraising pack and please get in touch with us with your thoughts by writing to lucy@muddymatches.co.uk.
