Cosy countryside date ideas for November

Monday, November 20th, 2023

Ah November: crisp mornings, craft markets aplenty, the excitement of Christmas just around the corner, and so many excuses to revert to the winter wardrobe, wrap up warm and tuck into a luxury hot chocolate. Is it too early for mulled wine, or even a mulled cider?

We know that mud loving singles and countryside couples love to get outdoors in the fresh air. So this dating advice post combines our passion for this wintry season with your need to be out in the elements. It’s time to embrace the classic knitwear and get dating this November!

Here are some November date ideas that tick a lot of boxes.

Indulge in a wintry hot chocolate or spiced mulled cider

Who needs an excuse to indulge? Head to your favourite cafe (by the way, we’re all about supporting local, independent businesses so choose with care), and treat you and your date to the seasonal special to takeaway. Festive drinks are on the menu now so break with the norm and try something a little more Christmassy. We’re liking the idea of spice mulled cider, and mulled wine too, right now as well. Afterwards, walk it off with a bracing countryside walk. Bliss!

Gather festive foliage for your home

With the festive season almost upon us, this has to be one of our favourite date ideas that brings the outside in – especially if you are hands-on crafty. All you need is your rural date, a good pair of secateurs and a bucket or trug, then head out to gather sprays of holly, pine, conifer, birch, spruce as well as some thistles and berries to create your own festive garlands and wreaths. Don’t forget the mistletoe.

Have a hyyge date night – with added crumble

As the days get shorter and cooler, it’s natural for us to want to cuddle up and get cosy with our country love. Light the fire (or the candles), close the curtains, and load up with cushions and blankets. Put on the music, choose a boxset or old fashioned romantic film and get ready for an evening of good old wintry comfort. For extra yum and a spot of comfort eating, add some fruit crumble with 2 spoons to dive in with.

Go on an autumnal photo shoot

You don’t need to hire the services of a professional, but with a tripod and a good camera or phone camera, you can have so much fun together, all with the beautiful British countryside as a backdrop. While away an afternoon taking some seasonal selfies of you having fun together. You’ll make some great memories and have photographic proof to look back on, too!

Introduce each other to your favourite local beauty spots

November is a great time to show your countryside match around your own local area. We love to play tourist in our own areas, and having someone to show around can really make you see it through new eyes. Whether it’s your local beach or lake, favourite walk, most-loved place to hack, or just a place to sit and take in the world, pack a picnic and take your muddy match along for the ride.
