Five Cosy Countryside Dates For November

Ah November: season of crisp, cool air, the excitement of Christmas just around the corner, and romantic dates where you can cosy up together. We know that you countryside peeps love to get outdoors in the fresh air so today’s blog post combines our passion for this wintry season with your need to be outside. It’s time to wrap up warm and get dating this November! Please remember to follow all governmental guidelines regarding lockdown and meeting people from outside your own household.

1. Indulge in a wintry hot chocolate

Who needs an excuse to indulge? Head to your favourite cafe (by the way, we’re all about supporting local, independent businesses so choose with care), and treat you and your date to the seasonal special to takeaway. You know the ones; topped with whipped cream, laced with seasonal syrups (or something stronger) and garnished with sprinkles and other yummy things. Afterwards, walk it off with a bracing countryside walk. Bliss!

2. Gather foliage for your home

With the festive season almost upon us, and having weathered one of the strangest years, we all need a bit of merriment to brighten up our days. This has to be one of our favourite date ideas. All you need is your rural date, a pair of secateurs and a bucket or trug, then head out to gather sprays of holly, birch and spruce to create your own festive garlands and wreaths.

3. Have a hyyge date night

As the days get shorter and cooler, it’s natural for us to want to cuddle up and get cosy. Please note, this date is only suitable if you and your countr ylove live together or if you have formed a bubble. What could be more romantic than a magical evening at home? Light the fire (or the candles), close the curtains, and load up with cushions and blankets. Put on the music or choose a romantic film and get ready for an evening of good old wintry joy.

4. Go on an autumnal photo shoot

You don’t need to hire the services of a professional, but with a tripod and a good camera or phone camera, you can have so much fun together, all with the beautiful British countryside as a backdrop. While away an afternoon taking some romantic, or goofy, photos of you having fun together. You’ll make some great memories and have photographic proof to look back on, too! Having the additional challenge of social distancing just adds extra fun!

5. Introduce each other to your favourite local beauty spots

November is a great time to show your countryside match around your own local area, especially with the new lockdown rules. We love to play tourist in our own areas, and having someone to show around can really make you see it through new eyes. Whether it’s your local beach or lake, favourite walk, most-loved place to hack, or just a place to sit and take in the world, pack a picnic and take your muddy match along for the ride.
