How To Tell If Things Are Going Well

The early stages of dating (online and offline) can feel like one long guessing game, while you try to work out how the other person feels about you and even how you really feel about them.

Here are some of the signs that suggest that things are going well…

They have looked at your profile multiple times

Looking at your profile once probably means that they were enticed by your photo and opening line and want to find out more about you. If they keep looking at your profile it probably means that they are thinking about starting a conversation with you.

They have added you to their ‘favourites’ list

Your favourites list is exactly what it says on the tin – it is a list of people that you are interested in. If someone adds you to their favourites list, it is a very strong sign that they want you to get in contact with them.

They have sent you a personalised message

A “Hi, you’re hot” type generic message could have been sent to hundreds of people, but a message that specifically references your dating profile, or photo shows that someone is interested in you in particular. We can’t guarantee a lifetime of happiness at this stage, but it is a good sign.

At this stage, things can still peter out if your potential date finds that things progress with someone else, or that they do not feel ready to take things further. If you have had regular contact with someone and then find that it suddenly stops, then it is likely that they have decided not to take things further, but are too afraid to tell you so.

You’ve arranged a date

Arranging a date is a great sign, but it isn’t the end of the story. If you want to know if your date is going well, you need to look out for the following:

*Flirting – if your date is teasing you in a friendly manner then it means that they see you as more than just friends.
*They suggest meeting up again – saying “we should do this again” is a bit vague, but if they suggest a date and a venue, then it is a sure sign that they hope to see you again.
