Spring Profile Updates

Saturday, March 24th, 2018

Spring time is traditionally a time for giving your home a deep clean, but it’s also a good time to give your dating profile a bit of a clean up to make sure that it is looking at its best.

Spellcheck

Use a spellchecking programme to look for any obvious spelling errors. Then read through your profile and check that the spellcheck hasn’t made any unusual corrections. Our spellchecker seems to have a nasty habit of changing wellies to willies for example.

Check the length

Did you start to write your profile with the thought that you would go back to it and finish it at a later date? If so, think about adding some interesting details about yourself to it to make it longer and more descriptive of who you are as a person.

If you are struggling to think of what to write, try asking one of your friends to write an introduction for you that you can adapt for yourself.

On the other hand, if your dating profile is more than 500 words long, then now is the time to cut out some of the detail so that people aren’t overwhelmed by the length of it.

Check the date

It is quite common for people to write their age within their dating profile text, but it isn’t necessary to do so as your age will update automatically update in line with your date of birth. If you have written your age on your dating profile, it is best to remove it.

Another thing to remove is any reference to past seasons or events. For example, if your profile text says ‘Happy New Year’, or ‘Merry Christmas’ it will show that you haven’t updated your profile in quite some time.

Choose a new profile photo

Changing your profile photo will give your dating profile a fresh look and will show a different side of you. If you have a serious look in your dating profile, try using a photo of you smiling.
