New Year, New You

As the New Year draws in there will be a lot of talk about New Year’s resolutions. Here are some plans that can help you to find love in 2018.

Quitting smoking

Trying to give up smoking is still one of the most popular New Year’s resolutions as people consider their health, social pressures, or just the wish to not have to go outside for a cigarette in the freezing cold.

As well as being good for your health, quitting smoking is also a smart move for your love life. Non-smokers are more likely to be viewed favourably on dating websites than their smoking counterparts.

Smoking is one of the hardest habits to break; so ask your pharmacist for help and advice.

Giving up sugar

Our nation’s love of sugar has become a major health concern and now thousands of people are choosing to cut added sugars from their diet. If you have chosen to reduce your sugar intake, or to quit it entirely it will have an impact on your looks. The sweet stuff is said to be linked to an increase in acne, wrinkles and skin redness.

If you find that your skin looks better after a few weeks of cutting back on sugar, you can update your dating profile to show off the results.

Dry January

Some people take on Dry January as a way to raise money for charity, but others use it as a way to be more healthy, or to stop embarrassing drunken behaviour.

If you find that you do silly things on a date when you have had a few drinks, then giving up alcohol could mean that you have a greater chance of getting a second date.

Taking on a sporting challenge

Lots of people choose to sign up for a sporting challenge in the New Year, such as a marathon, a mountain trek, or a long distance bike ride. Your new sporting focus will help to improve your fitness and you can add it to your profile text to encourage fellow fitness fans to get in touch with you. You could even suggest an active date idea that you could both enjoy.
