The New Year is a time for change and your dating profiles should reflect the new you.

Profile updates

Take a look at your profile and make sure that everything is up-to-date.

A lot of people write their age in their profile, but your age will automatically update from your date of birth, so it’s best not to include it in your profile text.

You might also need to update your job details and anything else that has changed since you wrote your profile.

It’s also a good time to update your personal details (which don’t show on your profile). This is especially important if you have changed your address, as your postcode is used when you search for people within your local area.

Add your New Year’s resolution

If your New Year’s resolution could involve someone special, let people know about it in your profile text. For example, if you say “My New Year’s resolution is to learn how to fly fish”, then it’s a great in for someone who already knows how to fly fish and they could use it as an excuse to get in touch with you.

Photo updates

We’ve all been tempted to use photos that are a few years old, but your Main Photo should be a photo that has been taken within the past year. Take a look through some of your recent photos for a good, clear photo of your face. Relaxed Christmas party photos are a good place to start, as they are likely to show you with a natural smile.

We hope that you have a great 2016!
