What to do After a Date

Congratulations, you’ve been on a successful date. Now what?

Don’t delete your profile straight away

When you’ve been on a fantastic date and have really clicked with someone, it’s tempting to decide that nobody could possibly beat them and therefore the best thing to do is to delete your profile and to commit yourself to your new relationship. However, you shouldn’t be so hasty and you should hide your profile.

Hide your profile if it went well

Deleting your profile will mean that all of your details won’t be accessible and that you will need to start all over again if you wish to return to online dating. However, if you choose to ‘hide’ your profile, your profile will not be visible to other people, but you will be able to access it and to make it visible again if need to.

Do say thanks

After a first date it’s a nice gesture to send a message to say ‘thank you I had a lovely time’ via text, email or via the dating website. It’s reassuring for the other person to receive and allows them to let you know what they thought as well.

Do suggest a second date

You don’t need to follow traditional dating etiquette when it comes to suggesting a second date. If you’re male or female, don’t be afraid to suggest meeting up again.

Do send us your success story

If you’ve been on a series of dates and have met the man or woman of your dreams, we’d love to hear about it! You can send us your success story via the success stories tab, via email to customercare@muddymatches.co.uk or send us a letter.

Tell your friends

If you’ve met one special person and have made lots of friends on Muddy Matches, tell your friends about it. Making the first move to join an online dating website can be scary, but finding out that it has worked for one of your friends can be the incentive that you need to join in the fun.
