Tips from Successful Daters

couple with wedding rings

Over the years we’ve had the pleasure of hearing from thousands of happy couples who met via Muddy Matches – some sent success stories for us to publish, others stopped us at country shows to say ‘thank you’ and we’ve received hundreds of phone calls.

Here are some things that we’ve learnt about dating from some of those who we have spoken to…

You can have a second chance at love

Looking for love after you have faced bereavement is very hard to do, but over the years we have heard from widows and widowers who have found love on Muddy Matches. Many have joined to meet new friends, but have found that friendship can lead to love with the right person.

Your perfect match may have been under your nose

We’ve lost count of the amount of couples who had been moving in the same circles as one another, but had never actually met each other before they joined Muddy Matches. By joining a website for country-minded people, you are likely to meet people with whom you have a lot in common, and you never know, you might even know the same people.

Distance is just a number

Although it is usual to look for people who live in the same area as you do, we have had lots of long-distance success stories over the years. In fact, one of our earliest success stories came in from a couple who lived hundreds of miles apart. If you are flexible about where you live, make it clear in your profile, so that people from further afield know that you are willing to move if you find the right person.

Life can change very quickly

When you meet the right person, things can fall into place very quickly. You can go from single and living on your own to married with children in a matter of years if you find Mr or Mrs Right.

We’ve also heard of people who have completely changed their career after being inspired by their new date – finally going into their dream career – such as one couple who set up a falconry business together and one couple who set up a small-holding together.
