Chocolate bar

There are a few unwritten rules of date night food – it should be tasty, it shouldn’t be guaranteed to ruin your outfit and you should be able to spend more time with your date then you spend hunched over the hob. Hopefully this three course menu should fit the bill and it is super-tasty.

Seasonal baked Camembert

Baked Camembert is a ridiculously easy starter that is fantastic to share with your date. The simplest versions involve scoring the cheese and putting rosemary springs into the top of the cheese before baking at 180ºC/350ºF/gas 4 for 20 minutes. However, if you fancy something a bit fancier and a bit more festive, this Jamie Oliver version with cranberries and nuts is just the thing.

Roasted sea bass

At this time of year you might be overwhelmed by heavy meat dishes and fancy something a bit lighter. This fish dish from Yahoo’s Kim Blakesley is fresh tasting and would be lovely with simple boiled vegetables.

Chocolate Clementine Cake with Hot Chocolate Sauce

For an indulgent chocolate pudding that is bound to impress your date, try this seasonal chocolate Clementine cake from MyChocolate. As a bonus you’ll have some left over afterwards, which can never be a bad thing! It would also be a good dinner party pudding for a group of guests over the festive period if you’re feeling generous.
