Making the Most of the Run-up to Valentine’s Day

A red rose on wooden floorboardsThe week leading up to Valentine’s Day is the busiest time on online dating sites, so if you’re looking to meet someone online, now is the perfect time to get into action. Here are some top tips for making the most of the busy week:

Take a look around – It might seem obvious, but some people sign up to dating sites and then do nothing else. Use the search function to look for people who you would like to get in contact with.

Choose a wider search location – Once you’ve started your search, make sure that you don’t set your search criteria to within 5 miles of your door. Try expanding your search in steps e.g. upping it from 5-10 miles, then from 10-15 miles and so on.

Expand the age limit of your search – Like with location, you shouldn’t be too restrictive when it comes to age limit. For example, if you’ve currently set your search at age 40-45 try searching for people aged from 38-47 and you might find a lovely person who you may have otherwise missed out on.

Add people to your favourites – Adding people to you favourites list lets them know that you like them; it’s also a handy way of saving someone’s details for later.

Send messages – If you like someone, send them a message to let them know.  However, we wouldn’t recommend asking someone straight away asking if they would like to go on a date for Valentine’s Day.
