A hearty farmhouse breakfast has long been a countryside staple start to a morning – and a firm Muddy Matches favourite.

Now a French report into food habits has revealed the full All English fry up also has surprising potential pulling power for singles whose brekkie is more than meaty. And our muddy dating advice on the back of it is simple; tuck in.

A study from the University of Montpelier says that a ‘fatty rich’ breakfast makes men ‘appear more attractive facially’ to the opposite sex.

It’s something worth remembering next time you pile the plate with sausage, bacon and egg.

Scientists also found that eating a full English – with it’s combo of fats, proteins and refined carbs –  impact on sex hormones in the body, which come to life on the skin and complexion. Yes, men who love a big breakfast, are a big hit with the ladies – or so we are led to believe.

Flip it, and gents who choose a more continental breakfast of croissants, waffles, pancakes, pastries muffins and cereals – are apparently less attractive, with scientists branding them ‘a real turn-off’.

As for your afternoon snack whilst in the tractor cab? Again it’s good news with starchy, sugary foods also bringing increased levels of attractiveness, due to the glucose boost in men.

And ladies beware the carbs. Breakfast pastries, croissants and pain au chocolates had the opposite effect on men. The increased glycemic levels from these brekkie choices made women less desirable to men who took part in the study.
