Foodie Date Ideas

Sunday, November 26th, 2017

Food and love have long been linked together, after all, it’s common to say that ‘the route to a man’s heart is through his belly’ and of course some foods are known to be aphrodisiacs.

Here are some first date ideas that bring you together through your love of food.

Afternoon tea

Afternoon tea is a bit of luxury and is usually saved for special occasions like birthdays, or Mother’s Day. The frivolous nature of what is essentially a personal sandwich and cake buffet will help your date experience to feel special.

Sharing is also known to promote bonding, so it’s great to be able to share a afternoon tea with one another and experience all of the different flavours.

It’s a nice idea for a first date as you won’t have to worry about getting home after dark.

Home cooking

It’s always good to find out that your date is a great cook, so  a home-cooked meal is a useful way to test their skills.

If you are doing the cooking, stick to one of your favourite dishes to make sure that you aren’t stressed about trying out something new. It will also give your date an insight into your normal routine.

We wouldn’t recommend going to someone’s house on a first date, so it’s best to save it for when you get to know each other a bit better.

Take a cooking class together

With the rise of gift experiences, it’s getting easier to find cooking classes that you can do as a couple. You’ll have lots to talk about and a new recipe, or two to add to your repertoire.

You’ll also get to see whether your date remains calm under pressure, or not.

Christmas market munching

Wrap up warm and head to a Christmas market to sample bratwurst, mince pies, hot chocolate and mulled wine. You can walk off some of the calories by exploring the stands afterwards.
