Why was My Profile Rejected?

finger on a z key on a keyboardAt Muddy Matches we read through every single profile that is sent through to us to make sure that only genuine country-minded people appear on the website. We also try to protect your contact details, so that people can only make contact with you through the safety of the online dating website.

In a relationship

If you’re in a relationship, you can join Muddy Matches to meet friends, but we do not allow people who are in a relationship to join for dating. If you are in a relationship, please tick the ‘friendship’ option.

Contact details

Adding your contact details leaves you exposed, so we make sure that people don’t sneak their phone number into their profile, or their email address, or social media details.

Too many details

Lots of people innocently add in where they work, where their kids go to school and which sports clubs they belong to thinking that it shows something about who they are. Adding details like this can mean that people can find you outside of the site. We suggest that you tell people what industry you work in, rather than which company you work for. For example, instead of saying that you work for Waitrose, you could say that you work for a supermarket.

Too short

We don’t expect people to write essays, but we ask people to write 200 characters, which is just a couple of sentences. You don’t need to have a published profile to look around, so you can take your time to write one that shows your best.

Adult content

We understand that everyone on the dating website is an adult, but we ask people not to put anything too explicit, as it’s not that kind of dating website!

If we do reject your profile, you will receive an email explaining why it was rejected, along with some changes that you can make to mean that it will be accepted next time.
