Outdoor Dating – First Dates

A golf ball by a holeOn a first date, it is important to consider your safety and to make sure that you meet in a public place. Therefore we wouldn’t encourage people to go on a walk or cycle ride in the countryside on a first date, but there are plenty of outdoor activities that can be enjoyed in public places. Here are a few suggestions, but we’d love to hear from you too!

Local festivals

During the summer months there are lots of local mini music festivals in locations throughout the UK and Ireland where you can enjoy being outside without having to spend a fortune on tickets (some are even free). They may not have big name bands, but you may discover some great local talent and hopefully enjoy some sunshine in the process. Click  to find free local festivals or check out your local newspaper for events. You may also find affordable festivals amongst the big name festivals on efestivals.

Mini golf or driving range

It’s a bit kitsch, but mini golf is fun and will give you something to talk about if you head for a drink afterwards. Although usually associated with seaside resorts, you can often find them inland at country parks and other public places.

Another alternative is to head to a driving range to test your skills together.

Beer garden

Going for a drink is a good way to get to know each other. Head to the pub beer garden to grab some fresh air and enjoy the summer sun. You could also choose a pub that serves food if you want to extend your date beyond a drink.
