Chocolate hearts in a heart shaped box

The majority of Muddy Matches members would rather be cooked a home-made meal for Valentine’s Day than receive a gift from their date.

A staggering 89% of people, who answered our online poll, said that they would like their date to cook them a romantic meal and only 25% of people said that they would serve a ready-meal to their date.  If you’re looking to make a romantic meal for your date here are some suggestions:

Recipes

For accomplished cooks, or at least enthusiastic cooks, you could try our winter warmer recipes. Jerusalem, artichoke soup, pheasant with parsnip and apple mash and for pudding, plum crumble. Although the pheasant season has ended, many suppliers still sell frozen pheasant for the main meal, or you could even substitute it with pork if you prefer.

For those who prefer a simpler, but still tasty recipe, we have compiled a blog post entitled ‘simple recipes to impress your date’.  With six recipes ranging from prawn skewers to chocolate mousse, there’s something for everyone and you won’t need to scuff up the edges of a ready-made pie.

Happy Valentine’s Day from Muddy Matches!
