The Results from Our Valentine’s Poll
Over the last few weeks, you may have noticed a poll question appearing when you log in to Muddy Matches, with questions ranging from ‘Have you ever given a Valentine’s Day card to a pet?’, right through to ‘Would you serve a luxury ready-meal to a date?’.
We’ve calculated the results and here they are:
New romance
We were pleased to find out that 71% of members would take a new date out on Valentine’s Day and following the success of our Free Love Weekend, we’re looking forward to hearing about your Valentine’s Day dates!
Hide under the duvet/ go out with friends
For those who haven’t arranged a date for Valentine’s Day, the top answer for what to do during the evening was ‘spend time with friends’, with only 36% saying that they would hide under the duvet.
Puppy love
For a countryside dating site, we were surprised to read that only 14% of people who answered the poll have ever sent or received a Valentine’s Day card from a pet. Maybe it’s just us then.
Get cooking
If you’ve got a date for Valentine’s Day, but have forgotten to buy a present, don’t panic! Nearly 90% of Muddy Matches members would prefer to be cooked a romantic meal than receive a present.
Muddy Matches members are also a good bet for cooking a romantic meal as only 25% said that they’d serve a luxury ready-meal to a date.

Happy days – everyone can send messages for free in the run-up to Valentine's Day!
Seriously?
Not a word of a lie – on the 12th February we'll be giving away two days’ free subscription to any member with an approved and visible profile. And this isn't some ‘subscribe-for-6-months-and-we'll-give-you-a-few-extra-days' gimmick either. It doesn't matter whether you've subscribed before or not; if you've filled out a profile and it's live and visible on the site, you'll be able to send and receive messages for free over the weekend of the 12th and 13th February. And if you're already a subscriber – don't worry – your two days will get added to the end of your current subscription.
Why?
Well, we know times are tight and it is Valentine's Day, but more importantly we're about to turn four – Happy Birthday to us – and how better to celebrate the occasion than by spreading a little muddy love? So if you're single, why not come back onto the site, see who's new, freshen up your profile a little bit and get messaging? Take a few chances as well: if you normally search within fifty miles of your postcode, why not try a hundred? If your typical age bracket is 30-35, how about trying 27-37? You could really make someone's day if you send them a message and – you never know – if you get on the case quickly enough you might just bag yourself a date for the 14th!
What do you have to do?
- Make sure that your profile is online, up-to-date and 'visible' before Friday 11th February (it's easy to check by signing in and clicking on 'view my published profile').
- Tell all your single muddy friends that, if they haven’t joined already, they have to get online and add their profile!
