Blind Date Couple Celebrate Their 20 Year Anniversary

A couple who met on the TV show Blind Date, which was hosted by Cilla Black in the 1980s and 1990s, are about to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary!

Back in 1988 and long before internet dating sites started to spring up in the mid-90s, Alex and Sue Tatham’s eyes met as the screen went back on this much-loved ITV dating show.  They were then whisked away for a medieval banquet date in Ireland before tying the knot 3 years later with Cilla Black as a guest, and this Wednesday they will be celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary!

Come and See Us at the CLA Game Fair for a Week’s Free Subscription!‏

We’ll be at the CLA Game Fair this Friday, Saturday and Sunday (22-24 July 2011) and we would love to meet you so, if you’re planning on coming along, do pop in to say hi to us on stand F668.

We’ll be offering a week’s free subscription to both new and existing members so if you’ve got any friends you think should sign up, bring them along too!

Fair Game Dating Show

At 3.30pm* on Saturday afternoon, we are putting on a light-hearted dating show in the Game Fair Theatre.

* Note this has been changed from the previously advertised time of 4.30pm

Hosted by Apprentice finalist Claire Young, the so-called Fair Game dating show will see a number of eligible country bachelors take their turn to try and impress a group of country girls with a view to taking one of them on a date at the end of the show. With one man and lots of women it looks like the odds are firmly stacked in his favour but here’s the twist…in this dating show the girls are in control and can take themselves out of the running at any point so the real question is will he do enough to impress them?

It’s free to watch and should be a hoot so do come along – remember to get there early if you want a seat!

Know any good country pubs in your area?

We are in the process of putting together some more muddy social events for 2011 and are currently looking for a selection of good country pubs across the UK where we can host our Pub Grub Nights.

When it comes to choosing venues, we know that local knowledge is really important and often go on recommendations from our members. With this in mind, we thought we would ask if you can suggest any good pubs in your region.

We often get emails from people asking when we will next be holding an event in their region/county/back garden so now’s your chance to get us to put on an event in your neck of the woods!

The things we look for in a pub are:

• Good country pubs – think roaring fires and real ale, rather than trendy wine bar/gastro pub

• Reasonably priced food – good quality, heart-warming food with decent portion sizes that doesn’t cost the earth

• Seating – we would need to seat at least 20-40 people in one room

• Location – it needs to be relatively well connected by road (and ideally rail as well)

• Accommodation – if there’s a pub B&B that’s perfect, otherwise there need to be some hotels/B&Bs in the local area for those who wish to stay the night

If you have any suggestions, we’d be really grateful if you would drop us a quick line at events@muddymatches.co.uk with a link to the pub’s website or any contact details you have.
