Muddy Matches Wins Small Business Competition

Small Business Sunday LogoWe are delighted to announce that Theo Paphitis of Dragon’s Den fame has selected Muddy Matches as one of the winners of his prestigious Small Business Sunday accolades.

Each week Theo chooses six small businesses as winners and tweets them out to his 336,280 followers. Each winner of the competition, sponsored by Ryman Stationers also gets to post a profile on the Small Business Sunday website to let others know about their business.

If you run a small business and would like to receive a re‐tweet from Theo Paphitis, send him a tweet explaining why your business is the best in its field between 5PM and 7.30 PM on a Sunday night. Make sure you include the hashtag #SBS and follow @theopaphitis and @RymanStationary from your Twitter account.

It took almost a year for Muddy Matches to be picked as a winner, so don’t get disheartened if you haven’t been chosen straight away!

Introducing the New Android App!

The dashboard from the Muddy Matches appBack in November we launched our iPhone app and we’re now pleased to announce the launch of our Android App!

What does the app do?

The app is a user-friendly version of our online site, giving you greater to access your Muddy Matches account on the go. For ease of use, the app has a dashboard with icons which give you a summary of your account at a glance. For example you can see how many new messages you have, how many people have viewed your profile and how many people have added you to their favourites. It also allows you to see all of your messages from each person in a text message style format, so you can look back on what you have already said. In addition to that, you can see if your messages have been opened as part of the conversation.

What does the app cost?

Absolutely nothing!

How can I download it?

When you access the website via your mobile phone you will be offered the opportunity to download the app. You can also click here to be taken to the Google Play store or search for ‘Muddy Matches’ in the Google Play Store.

Check Out the New ‘Who’s Going?’ Feature

We are lucky in the UK and Ireland to have some great country shows and rural events, and for a while now we have been trying to list as many of them as possible on our Country Calendar.  With so many like-minded people going to these events, it dawned on us that they should be excellent places to meet other single people who share our love of the countryside and all things muddy, but somehow for most of us it rarely seems to work out like that.  Our aim at Muddy Matches has always been about changing the way we meet new people in the countryside and so we put our heads together to see if there was anything we can do about this.  As a result, we came up with the idea for our new ‘Who’s Going?’ feature to help you find which other members like going to the same shows and events as you, and potentially find new people to go to the events with or arrange to meet up with while you are there.  Plans are also afoot for an exciting new feature that will also help you meet new people when you are actually at an event, so watch this space about that one!
