If we’re honest, we did call the authorities to check that it is legal to eat roadkill and if the commonly held belief that “if the person in front of you hit it, you can eat it” is true. The police informed us that you are not breaking the law by removing a dead rabbit from the road, but “you must be wary of your own safety”. If you hit a pet or a deer you must report it to the police!

So, back to the point, Emma’s winning question is as follows…

With a muddy website, it was no surprise that many of the questions related to wellies. Two of the answers were so similar that we have decided to award a joint prize to Matt and Becks, of 3 months each. The question formed from Matt and Becks’ answers is…

• Absolutely filthy; so dirty there’s no point cleaning them.

Fourth prize winner

Our fourth prize winner is Rae, who wins a month’s free subscription for her holiday question. We especially liked the answer about not being able to leave your animals behind to go abroad.

The ideal holiday abroad would mean packing:

• Designer sunglasses, sun cream and a Kindle.
• Sensible shoes, backpack and a guidebook.
• Hiking boots, backpack and camping equipment.
• I wouldn’t be able to leave the animals to go on holiday abroad.

One of our recent favourites came from Beccy, who found love with a muddy match who lived on the opposite side of the country. Click to see a lovely photo of the happy couple, which makes you feel a little warm and fuzzy inside.

In contrast to Beccy’s long-distance romance, is Tanya’s success story of finding love close to home. Tanya who lived just 12 miles from her husband, had never met him before they messaged each other on Muddy Matches and found out that they even shared some of the same friends.

Then there is Robert, who shows that it’s worth putting in the effort to find your Mrs Right and Natasha who loves telling people that she met the love of her life online.

Meg not only found her met her lovely fiancée on the site, but also knows of 10 friends who met their other half on the site! Sarah also proved that Muddy Matches is also a great website to find country-minded friends if you move to a new area . However, one of her new found friends also turned out to be the love of her life.

“In the show, three of the best businesses compete to be named Best in Town.  The show we are currently working on pitches three of the best beauticians in London against each other.  There are three rounds in the show, and the final round, is the ultimate challenge that puts our beauticians to the test and under pressure.

Creatively, we were thinking of finding three single men who are looking for a date/ girlfriend, and our beauticians would be challenged to make them over, groom them, and help them feel confident ahead of a night of speed dates.”

The trust will be using 90 pairs of old walking boots to create an advertising board in Edinburgh, encouraging commuters to support the National Trust for Scotland’s countryside campaign.

Campaign Manager, Amy Gunn said:

“We want your old boots to help us spread the message about our mountain and countryside work. Instead of binning your boots, send them to the Trust, freepost and play your part in helping to conserve some of Scotland’s most iconic mountain landscapes, including Glencoe, Torridon and Goatfell.”

How to enter

Email a question to heather@muddymatches.co.uk that you feel determines how ‘muddy’ someone is, along with four answers that range from very muddy to very townie.

For example our first question (in order of muddiness) says:

Where would your ideal house be?

• In a remote area surrounded by woods, fields and a stretch of river.
• In a village, a 5-minute walk from open fields and with a bus once a week.
• In a town to be close to the shops but a short drive from the countryside or park.
• In a city, to be close to the happening night life and extensive public transport.

The question and answers must be ‘muddy’, but not dirty (no rude words or double entendres) and shouldn’t be too geared towards one activity or job, as Muddy Matches appeals to a wide range of country-minded people.

What can I win?

We will be awarding four prizes for the best questions. The prizes will be as follows:

First prize – 1 years free subscription to Muddy Matches (worth £72)

What does the app do?

The app is a user-friendly version of our online site, giving you greater to access your Muddy Matches account on the go. For ease of use, the app has a dashboard with icons which give you a summary of your account at a glance. For example you can see how many new messages you have, how many people have viewed your profile and how many people have added you to their favourites. It also allows you to see all of your messages from each person in a text message style format, so you can look back on what you have already said. In addition to that, you can see if your messages have been opened as part of the conversation.
