The Mud Lovers Ball

We love a good knees-up so, in celebration of our third birthday and all things ‘muddy’, we look forward to welcoming members, non-members, family and friends to our second Mud Lovers Ball.

Fed up with going to parties where you only end up talking to people you already know, we decided it was about time we launched a large country-focused social event that placed an emphasis on meeting new people and, from this idea, the Mud Lovers Ball was born.

The first ball was held last year and was a roaring success, with nearly 300 muddies coming together from across the UK and Ireland for a massive knees-up. Click here to see a few of the photos from last year and to read some of the great feedback we received.

With dinner, live music and, for those who are interested, lots of opportunities to chat to people who you might not have otherwise had the chance to meet, this is an evening that no sociable muddy person is going to want to miss!

Tickets range from £60 to £67 per person, depending on what type of ticket you wish to purchase and how many you buy at one time (see 'Ticket Options' below for details).

Time: 7pm to 1.30am	Dress: black tie with a 'muddy' twist.

Ticket Options

To cater for everyone’s needs, we are offering a ‘Mixed Table’ and a ‘Private Table’ option:

• Mixed Tables

These are aimed at those who would enjoy meeting some new people from their region. Tickets can be bought individually or as a group and we will take down the name and age of each ticket-holder and the county they are from; we will then mix everyone up accordingly and do a seating plan, asking the men to move places after each course. This way, even if you have to travel quite a distance to come to the ball, you will get an opportunity to chat to lots of new people who live relatively close to you. Those booking in groups may be on the same table but, to make sure you meet as many new people as possible, we will try to ensure you are not sitting next to each other. • Private Tables

These are aimed at those who are keen to come to the ball but would like to organise their own table and seating plan. Private tables are available for £600 and seat a maximum of 10 people.

Make a Weekend of It

We know some of you will have to come a long way to attend so we are doing everything we can to make it worth the journey. Not only will it be a cracking night, but we are also organising a couple of other events so that you can make a weekend of it and meet as many people as possible:

Pre-Ball Activity - come and join us on Saturday for a few hours of high-wire forest fun at a Jungle Parc adventure course set in the trees - it will be a great way to get to know a few other people before the ball. Click here for more information.

Post-Ball Walk - come and join us for a lungful of fresh air on Sunday when we go for a gentle walk to clear our party heads - it will be a great chance to meet anyone you might not have had the chance to chat to the night before or, indeed, to carry on the conversation. Travel and Accommodation

If you wish to drive and either have space in your car or would like to get a lift, you are welcome to contact us after you have bought your ball ticket and we will try to put you in touch with anyone in your area looking to share a lift.


• Accommodation: we have drawn up a long list of places to stay in the local area, many of which are quite reasonable - click here for the full list. If you are coming alone but would like to find someone to share a room with to halve the cost, contact us once you have bought your ball ticket and we will put you in touch with any other people looking to share.
