I’m Not Very Good With Technology

Online dating, by its very nature, involves using technology to find matches. It’s easy to say “I’m not very good with technology” and to dismiss the whole idea of finding love online, but a few simple tweaks will mean that even true technophobes won’t miss out on the opportunity of meeting new people online.
Here’s how to conquer your fears:

Don’t panic!

When you don’t understand something at first, it’s really easy to get worked up and to start to believe that you simply can’t do it. You can do it! Just give yourself time and don’t beat yourself up if you don’t get something straight away.

Just ‘Google it’

Even people who work in IT look problems up on Google. If you’re stuck on anything, type your problem in to a search engine such as Google and see how other people have solved the problem. It helps to know what device you are using (e.g. phone, computer, laptop or tablet) and which browser you are using (e.g. Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer).

Ask a friend

If you have a friend who uses a computer regularly, ask them if they can pop round and show you how to get started. This could mean setting up an email address for you, or helping you with the online dating sign up process. Just make sure that you remember what your log in details are.
